Digital Servicebook has received the award for Product of the Year at Auto Awards 2021. The recognition went to the work of making it easy to document a car's life, protecting service data against manipulation, reducing fraud and increasing the vehicle's value.

An industry going digital

Like every other industry, the automotive trade is becoming steadily more digital. Every workshop has computers, phones and other technology, just as every car contains software and sensors. The paradox is that the industry still holds on to the idea that processes, data sharing and the physical service book should work the way they always have. We are well on the way to changing that — and thank you to the many hundreds of workshops already using Digital Servicebook.

One portal for every car brand

Digital Servicebook is an independent documentation portal for all car brands. We replace the paper booklet and bring a car's history together in one place, so it follows the vehicle rather than any single system. The workshop records service and repairs once — not in both the paper service book and the manufacturers' OE portals.

Transparency benefits every link

“In our industry, trust and customer relationships are decisive in getting customers to return to the local workshop, but the more digital cars and the trade become, the harder it gets to maintain a close relationship with the customer,” says Kim Koch, CEO of Digital Servicebook.

“Car manufacturers now communicate directly with car owners as part of the technological advances, and workshops will therefore find it harder to keep the customer relationship and hold on to their business. As a Digital Servicebook customer you can, depending on the subscription you choose, bring vehicle data and service history carried out at the brand manufacturers into the digital service book. That kind of transparency benefits the car manufacturers, the independent workshops, the OE houses and the consumer alike, because every party has access to the car's entire history.”

That principle is still at the core of Digital Servicebook. A car's history belongs to the car — not to the individual workshop or the individual manufacturer. That is why it can be used by everyone with a legitimate interest in the vehicle: the workshop doing the work, the owner who needs to keep their warranty, and the next person who needs to trust what the car has been through.
