About Digital Servicebook

Vehicle data belongs to the car, not the manufacturers

Digital Servicebook replaces the old paper service book for all car brands. The workshop documents the work, and the history follows the car — so the owner keeps the factory warranty, the fleet operator gets an overview without manual reporting, and the dealer can document the price at resale.

What we want

A car changes owners, workshops and roles many times in its life. We make the car's actual history the fixed point. It is shared by everyone who deals with the vehicle.

Mission

We make vehicle data free and accessible, and bring a car's actual history together in one place, so it follows the vehicle rather than any single system. The workshop documents the work it carries out. The owner keeps their warranty and their documentation. The fleet operator gets an overview without manual reporting. And the dealer can stand behind the price. The same history, the same truth — whoever needs it.

Vision

We want to be the automotive industry's shared source of verified service history across Europe. A history should not start over every time a car gets a new owner or a new workshop — or crosses a border. Our goal is for every link in a car's life, from the first service to the final sale, to work from the same documented reality. Whatever the brand, whatever the country, and whoever is asking.

The background

Data must be open and accessible to everyone

Digital Servicebook was founded in Næstved in 2015 by Kim Koch and Jens Pedersen with a specific purpose. EU law gives independent workshops the right to vehicle data and to service cars according to the manufacturers' specifications — but in practice the documentation was locked away with the car brands. We built the alternative: one independent service book covering every make.

Since then it has become clear that the same open history matters just as much further along a car's life. Fleet operators and leasing companies need to document maintenance across many workshops without collecting piles of paper — which makes fleet management and compliance markedly simpler. Dealers need to stand behind the price of a used car, and to spot odometer fraud before the customer does. And the owner needs to take the history with them when the car changes hands.

We know what independent workshops need, the legislation on factory warranties and everyday life in a workshop — and we have grown from a good idea into a recognised brand across several Nordic markets, with more than 20 employees. That is why Digital Servicebook today is not only a workshop tool, but the shared source of truth about a car's service data: recorded at the source, available to everyone with a legitimate interest in the vehicle.
