Power of attorney: what you sign
The power of attorney allows us to create user logins on the manufacturer portals you have chosen yourself, so that we can report on your behalf.
This article is for garages that are in the process of signing up for OE Upload and have received a power of attorney for signature. It goes through what the power of attorney covers and what it does not cover.
What it allows us to do
The power of attorney gives Digital Servicebook permission to create user logins on the manufacturers' service platforms that you have chosen during registration. Without it, we cannot report to the manufacturer's service book, because the reporting takes place through the manufacturer's own system.
The registration is done on behalf of the workshop and in the workshop's own name. We report, but it is your work that is listed as done by you.
It also covers new car brands
If new manufacturers or car brands come to the service, the power of attorney you have already given covers them as well. You do not have to sign again every time the list gets longer.
This is worth being aware of, because it is the one part of the power of attorney that goes beyond what you choose on the day of registration.
How to manage your passwords
Usernames and passwords for the manufacturers' portals are treated confidentially, and only the employees at Digital Servicebook who need them for the task have access to them.
We do not use any subcontractors for the tasks covered by the power of attorney. We are the ones who report, and the information is not passed on to a third party to get the job done.
What it doesn't cover
The power of attorney does not replace the car owner's consent. The owner must have consented to the service records being uploaded to the manufacturer's digital service book, and this applies every time. The power of attorney is about your relationship with us, the consent about the car owner's relationship with his or her own data.
When you get it
The power of attorney is sent for signature together with the registration document when you sign up for OE Upload. Both must be signed before the service can be used, and there must also be a valid subscription and a registered user account with the respective manufacturers.
What OE Upload costs and which car brands are supported is stated in the article about what OE Upload costs.

Can we have multiple subscriptions on the same account?
Yes. The account belongs to the company, and there can be multiple subscriptions under it, while each user gets the context that suits the job.
What happens to your data if you cancel?
The service history belongs to the vehicles and will not be deleted. However, your own access to lookup ends at the same time as the subscription.
Cancelling the subscription
Notice and terms are stated in your agreement. What you have registered will not be deleted, but access to look up will cease with the subscription.
