AUTIG turns 90 years old. For nine decades, the organization has been a voice for the free aftermarket in Denmark, and an anniversary is a good opportunity to look at what has changed along the way and what still remains.
Cars have gone digital, and this has moved the work
Cars have become more digital, and documentation takes up more space than before. Access to technical information, service history and vehicle data is today crucial for workshops and other players in the aftermarket to be able to do their job professionally and compete on fair terms.
That is precisely why AUTIG's work has been important. For many years, AUTIG has worked for fair competition, equal access and a better framework for the independent aftermarket industry.
The documentation must accompany the car
At Digital Servicebook, we work with the same reality. Digital Servicebook gathers service history, documentation and data across car brands, systems and workshops, so that workshops, dealers, fleet owners and leasing companies can document the work, create an overview and use the car's history actively in everyday life.
For us, digitalisation is not about making things more complicated. It is about making important information easier to find, easier to document and easier to use.
When a workshop carries out a service or repair, the documentation should not disappear in paper folders, closed systems or internal workflows. It must be able to follow the car, be used by the next link in the value chain and create value for the professionals who work with the car throughout its lifetime.
The future is built in interaction
It requires systems that build bridges between workshops, car brands and data. But it also requires that someone continues to work for equal access, fair competition and an open framework in the industry. That is why organisations like AUTIG are important.
At Digital Servicebook, we have had a close collaboration with AUTIG, and they have been an important support on our journey, also in the work of taking Digital Servicebook out to more European markets. The automotive industry of the future will not be built by one company alone, but in interaction between workshops, suppliers, system providers and industry organizations, each of which contributes to a more digital and transparent industry.
Congratulations to AUTIG on its 90th anniversary. We continue the work of making the car's data and documentation more accessible and more useful for the entire professional car industry, and we look forward to the next years together with you.
